Chapter 1: A Wellness Narrative

On a site just outside Beaconsfield, LIMINAL and our curated collaborative team are well on the way to delivering a Wellness Retreat and Accommodation Pavilions within an established vineyard, gathering and celebrating the qualities this part of the world is renowned for.

The Night Sky - Imagining on Country

The Tamar Valley is well known for its qualities of rejuvenation and nourishment, defined by its landscape, its river, and a deep agricultural tradition that continues to shape daily life. From continual connections to Country through to generations of farming and viticulture, the valley reflects a rare continuity between land, people, and purpose.

On a site just outside Beaconsfield, LIMINAL and our curated collaborative team are well on the way to delivering a Wellness Retreat and Accommodation Pavilions within an established vineyard, gathering and celebrating the qualities this part of the world is renowned for. Here, visitors will be encouraged to pause and immerse themselves in experiences of rejuvenation, regeneration and simple pleasures, guided by wellness, agritourism, quality Tasmanian produce, art and culture.

On this site in the Tamar Valley, the curve of the Milky Way is met by the natural amphitheatre form of the site. Sky and Country become part of the same story.

Characterised by an emerging experience leading to wellness, contemplation and rejuvenation, it begins with listening to the place and invites visitors to carry a thought with them when they leave. The retreat, vineyard, the architecture and the landscape are being shaped as parts of that one unfolding story.

As Northern Tasmania looks to grow nature-led wellness experiences, this project is an opportunity to show what can emerge when the experience is understood first, and design grows from there.

The recent announcement of a landmark Wellness Precinct EOI for Crown land in Northern Tasmania confirms what we've believed for some time: this region has what wellness travellers are looking for. We're already doing this work in the Tamar Valley, listening to place before drawing a line. If you're building a team to respond to the EOI, we'd welcome the conversation.

More to come.
