We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Bookkeeper to support the financial administration of our accomplished architecture and design practice.

About the Role:
Working approximately 15 hours per week, you will work closely with the Directors and our external accountant, taking responsibility for the day-to-day bookkeeping functions that underpin the smooth operation of the Studio.
Key Responsibilities
You will have demonstrated experience across:
- payroll, including leave calculations, employee reimbursements and payroll compliance
- bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and financial record keeping
- taxation, including BAS preparation and liaison with our external accountant
- employment administration, including employee records, leave management and payroll-related obligations
- superannuation administration
- financial software, including excellent working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel (experience with Total Synergy is desirable)
- cashflow management, forecasting and financial reporting to support informed business decision-making
- general bookkeeping administration, record keeping and data entry.
About You
You are someone who:
- has a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping/Accounting as a minimum
- has proven bookkeeping experience in a similar role and sized business
- is highly organised and detail-oriented
- enjoys working systematically
- follows tasks through to completion
- communicates clearly and professionally
- is comfortable asking questions when clarification is required
- does not rely on assumptions and routinely verifies information before making decisions, taking action or providing advice
- is comfortable saying “I don’t know” and proactively seeks clarification when needed
- understands they are a trusted custodian of the Studio’s financial administration and communicates proactively whenever clarification or guidance is required
- is a high performer when it comes to accuracy, task recall, attention to detail, verification and follow-through
- takes pride in delivering work that Directors can rely on without repeated follow-up
Essential Skills
- Minimum three years’ bookkeeping experience.
- Extensive payroll experience.
- High proficiency in using Xero Accounting software, Microsoft 365, particularly Microsoft Excel and navigating ATO portals.
- High level of accuracy.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise work, manage competing deadlines and consistently follow tasks through to completion.
