Designed Objects Tasmania (DOT) is Australia's longest running design collective providing networking, resources, exhibitions and professional development for local designers.
The vision was for DOT to establish and enhance an online exhibition catalogue for its exhibition 'Furnished' making it superior and more functional than its existing online presence and information.
Given the nature of the business and its corresponding public perception the design's primary objective is visual communication.
Liminal Graphics placed priority to vibrant visuals to give importance and precedence to the quality, craftsmanship and creativity of the artist and their works with delicate placement and positioning of supporting information.
Website design was inspired by the idea of Tetris - a form that involves the repositioning of four squares to create various forms.
The function is the dominant medium however there has been no compromise to the overall design in the process. In fact this is where form and function have co-existed in equal proportion. One has to use this in order to appreciate its ease of the function and visual aesthetics.
The dot.furnished website has become a valuable and more user-friendly option to promote Tasmania's burgeoning design community.
